Is political correctness just censorship that pushes the acceptance of all kinds of weirdos and minorities ?

If it is censorship, who is the censor? This is still a free country and books or speech has never been banned. Political correctness occurs in the free market of public opinion. If something is objectionable to the rational public, people are free to criticize it. If a private or public employer chooses to look out for their own best interests by firing someone for objectionable speech that is still the free market.
