What is the weather like on the East coast of America in early spring (March specifically)?

I am going backpacking over spring break (in March) and then again over the summer and I am wondering what the weather is like. I come from Colorado, and I know that March is our snowiest month here. But it can also be quite warm when it's not snowing. What is the weather like on the east coast?
