Is there an effective way to permanently stop someone from stalking you?
I found out this morning that the man who occasionally plows my yard, and lives the next street over from me has been stalking me. He "snapped" on me this morning after plowing my yard and stated that he knew what time I depart/arrive home-how late I stay up, that I was here alone (my boyfriend went out of town 2 days ago) and that he knew which bedrooms my son and I slept in. He went on to call me a , a slut, and all sorts of other severely demeaning names. I am guessing that his "observance" of me has been going on for about the past two years. I ceased using his plow service in January of 2010 when I noticed him riding by my home periodically, and when he began pulling up in front of my home when either my son or I were out in the yard. I called him yesterday to plow my drive after my boyfriend indicated he would be in gone longer than expected (he usually does the driveway), and I could find no one else to do it. I searched his background after the incident this morning and found out that he has two prior and kidnapping cases as well as 3 for burglary and one for ault. My local police department said that they will take a harment report but they do not seem to comprehend my sense of fear-or the seriousness of the situation-especially given his prior history. What can be done? This man was able to accurately state a lot of things about me that my own mother doesn't even know.
